Winter had just ended a few weeks ago, and spring was now in full bloom; Tommy met Deborah during Christmas time, and now they are truly in love. Since that joyful time of the year, Tommy had ever-so-wanted to pop the question to Deborah, but his parents do not think that it would be appropriate to ask her for her hand in marriage so very soon.
However, Tommy was very much determined to ask Deborah for her hand in marriage, in the hopes that she would say yes and that they would live their lives happily for all the time long.
One afternoon, Tommy paid a visit to Deborah at her house in the suburbs; he rang the doorbell while she ran to the door to open it. Tommy and Deborah said hello to one another, and then she offered Tommy to sit down for lunch. While they were eating lunch, Tommy said to Deborah, “Debbie, you are the most wonderful lady that I have ever met in all of my life…and I would very much like to have for you to share your life with me.”
But Deborah stopped at Tommy's sentence, replying to him, “Tommy…First of all I would like to apologize for interrupting your speaking. Now, I want to say that although I appreciate you offering my hand in marriage, I do not know if it would be appropriate for us to get married so soon. So I am going to have to think this over, and when my mind is finally made up, then I will give you the answer in a week.”
Tommy agreed; then he and Deborah finished their lunches and then Tommy left Deborah's house. As Tommy was walking home, he wondered to himself if he could have a thousand wishes to make Deborah his very own.
Soon, Tommy walks to a flea market and sees an antique golden bottle; he buys the bottle and then rushes back home! Once at his house, Tommy takes one good look at the golden bottle and then decides to open the bottle up and see if it works. Tommy opens the bottle, and then a genie comes out! Tommy just could not believe his eyes!
This REALLY was a genie, all powerful and all magical, an incredibly fantastical being who grants wishes if there ever was one! The genie began to speak to Tommy, “I am the most powerful genie of the golden bottle! Now, although I may be powerful, I can only grant three wishes. So now, master, what shall be your very first wish?”
Tommy just could not believe his good fortune, for not only there was a powerful genie right in front of him, this genie can grant any three wishes that Tommy wants! So Tommy thought about what his first wish would be, and then he finally announced to the genie, “Oh, mighty genie, I wish that my girlfriend Deborah has finally accepted my proposal of marriage, and would fall in love with me!”
The genie has heard Tommy's first wish, and then waved his arms to activate his magic and-POOF!-Deborah entered into Tommy's house, and agreed to his proposal! Tommy had never been so very happy! He put the engagement ring on her finger, and kissed.
Tommy and Deborah then went to her parents house; there, they announced their engagement, but Deborah's patents are wary of this, saying it is still way too early to get married! Then Deborah said to Tommy, “Oh, I wish that your parents would just croak!” Just then, the golden bottle began to rattle, and the genie's magic was activated, causing Deborah to have her wish granted, and her parents being turned into frogs!
Deborah just could not believe just what was going on! She then asked Tommy, “What happened here?!” Tommy then pulled out the golden bottle from his pocket, and then he told Deborah, “This golden bottle has a genie in it, and this genie can only grant three wishes! I had already had my first wish granted, but you have just wasted what was going to be my second wish! I only have one more wish left, and neither you nor I should waste it!”
But Deborah became very greedy, saying to Tommy, “Let me have that final wish!” “Nooo!” cried Tommy. Then Tommy ran off and away from Deborah just so that he could have that third and final wish, but Deborah herself was already behind him! Tommy ran home as fast as he could, but then he tripped, causing the golden bottle to fall from his hand, and be smashed into a thousand pieces, and causing the genie to disappear! Just then, Tommy sees Deborah coming towards him, and then…
Tommy woke up! Yes, Tommy woke up, and realized that it was all nothing but a silly dream, but then again, we all dream lots of silly dreams, don’t we?
The following week, Tommy and Deborah visited each other again and the both of them decided that maybe it was time to wait a while before they could finally commit themselves to marriage; then the two said goodbye to each other, knowing that they would see each other soon. As Tommy walked home, he then began thinking that maybe it is a good thing to wait a little longer…
